Harm Reduction

About the Program

The Harm Reduction program aims to reduce the health and societal impacts of drug use by meeting people where they are with compassion and dignity. Our focus is on minimizing risks while connecting individuals to life-saving services.

We track trends in substance use, overdose incidents, and the spread of infectious diseases like hepatitis and HIV. We also manage syringe exchange and naloxone distribution programs.

We provide clean supplies, overdose prevention education, and referrals to treatment programs. Our staff fosters trust by building relationships with individuals who use drugs, helping them take steps toward better health and recovery.

This service supports individuals who use substances, their families, and the broader community affected by the opioid crisis. We work closely with healthcare providers, law enforcement, and treatment centers.

We offer Anonymous Needle Exchange services in Barren, Edmonson, Hart, Logan and Warren Counties. No ID required or appointment necessary to use these services. Our program offers free, confidential HIV & Hep C testing.
