Dental Health Services

The Barren River District Health Department’s Mighty Molars Dental Team is proud to offer dental care in schools and Head Start programs across all 8 counties. Our team provides dental checkups, teaches kids about taking care of their teeth, and gives advice on healthy eating and staying away from tobacco. We also provide cleanings, apply fluoride treatments and sealants to protect teeth. Our team also provides follow-up case management for children with urgent needs by coordinating care with a DMD. These services are provided by our licensed Dental Hygiene Team comprised of Registered Dental Hygienists functioning per KRS 313.040 AND 201 KAR8:562. We follow the protocols and guidance set forth by the Kentucky Public Health Dental Hygiene program; those protocols are approved and signed by our Dental Director.
