Senior Support Associate I (Warren County)

The Barren River District Health Department is accepting applications for one (1) full-time Senior Support Associate I position to work at the Warren County Health Department. The minimum requirements are a high school diploma or GED and one year of moderately difficult business or public administrative experience in a medical, hospital or administrative office environment using electronic office equipment and professional software. Additional education (college, vocational school, etc.) in business education or a medically related field may substitute for the required experience on a year for year basis. Duties include receptionist, making appointments, patient screening, WIC, cashier duties, data entry, copying, and filing.  Preference will also be given to applicants that are bilingual.  Other duties as assigned. The minimum hourly rate is $10.10 with excellent benefits. You must have reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license. Local Health Nurse I (Simpson County)

The Barren River District Health Department is accepting applications for a full-time Local Health Nurse I position to work at the Simpson County Health Department. The minimum requirement is an Associate degree or diploma in nursing from an accredited college, university, or school of nursing.  Must have RN license in Kentucky or compact state or provisional license in Kentucky, meeting all requirements of KRS 314.041 and approval to practice as Registered Nurse Applicant (RNA). Preference will also be given to applicants that are bilingual. Duties include clinical nursing for all clinical programs in Simpson County. Travel will be required to other counties as needed after training is complete. Other duties as assigned. The minimum hourly wage is $15.51 with excellent benefits. Applicant must have reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license. Applicants will be screened then interviewed. Health Environmentalist I (Simpson County)

There is an out of house opening for a Health Environmentalist I Grade 15 to work in the Simpson County Health Department.  The minimum hourly wage is $12.15 per hour. Requirements are a bachelor’s degree from a college or university with a minor or equivalent course work (24 semester hours) in environmental health, biological, or physical science or registration as a Kentucky Environmental Specialist/Sanitarian under KRS 223.

Brief Job Description:

Health Environmentalist to perform all environmental health inspections and investigations in Simpson County to ensure compliance with regulations, to include food service, hotel/motel, mobile home/recreation vehicle park, public building plan review, tattoo studio, school, septic tank cleaning vehicle, septic tank cleaning disposal site, ear/body piercing studio, youth camp, tanning bed, lead, swimming pool, beach, private water sample, rabies control and onsite sewage disposal system program; Investigates all nuisance complaints including mosquito control, bird, insect, and rodent; Issues notice/release in the methamphetamine lab program; Teaches Food Manager classes; Responds to environmental emergencies such as food vehicle accident, food service establishment fire, flood or other natural disaster, water service emergency; Provides information on mold as needed; Interprets reports generated by the Environmental Health Management Information System (EHMIS).   Travel will be required to other counties as needed after training is complete. Administrative Assistant (District Office in Warren County)

There is an out of house opening for a full-time Administrative Assistant Grade 13 to work at the District Office in Warren County.   The minimum hourly rate is $10.70. The minimum requirement is a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, Public Health, Community Health, Accounting, Human Resource Management, Computer Science or related degree OR a high school diploma or GED and five (5) years of experience in administrative responsibilities such as budgeting, personnel planning or closely related activities. Education in the field will substitute for the experience on a year for year basis not to exceed four (4) years.   This position will organize and coordinate daily activities in administration, manage multiple calendars, complete and maintains various office records, participate in the development of office procedures, coordinates unique projects and special events, equipment and forms, assists in organizing and executing routine activities and special projects, conduct extensive research to compile information needed to generate reports and complete special projects as assigned. The position will report to Director, but provide administration support for all of administration. Preference will also be given to applicants that are bilingual.  Other duties as assigned. The Barren River District Health Department is accepting applications for a full-time Local Health Nurse I (grade 15) or LHNII (grade 18) position to work at the District office in Bowling Green as a Communicable Disease team member.  The minimum requirement is an Associate degree or diploma in nursing from an accredited college, university, or school of nursing.  Must have RN license in Kentucky or compact state or provisional license in Kentucky, meeting all requirements of KRS 314.041 and approval to practice as Registered Nurse Applicant (RNA). Responsibilities include: TB investigation and control activities, TB direct observed therapies home visits; investigation and case management of patients with communicable diseases; care coordination and follow-up with local medical providers, state program consultants, and client family members; data collection and analysis; outreach; and other duties as assigned. The minimum hourly wage is $15.51 with excellent benefits. Applicant must have reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license. Applicants will be screened then interviewed. The successful applicant will be required to pass a pre-employment drug test and background check.
