Local Health Nurse I in Simpson County

The Barren River District Health Department is accepting applications for a full-time Local Health Nurse I position to work at the Simpson County Health Department. The minimum requirement is an Associate degree or diploma in nursing from an accredited college, university, or school of nursing.  Must have RN license in Kentucky or compact state or provisional license in Kentucky, meeting all requirements of KRS 314.041 and approval to practice as Registered Nurse Applicant (RNA). Preference will also be given to applicants that are bilingual. Duties include clinical nursing for all clinical programs in Simpson County. Travel will be required to other counties as needed after training is complete. Other duties as assigned. The minimum hourly wage is $15.51 with excellent benefits. The Barren River District Health Department is accepting applications for a full-time Local Health Nurse I (grade 15) or LHNII (grade 18) position to work at the District office in Bowling Green as a Communicable Disease team member.  The minimum requirement is an Associate degree or diploma in nursing from an accredited college, university, or school of nursing.  Must have RN license in Kentucky or compact state or provisional license in Kentucky, meeting all requirements of KRS 314.041 and approval to practice as Registered Nurse Applicant (RNA). Responsibilities include: TB investigation and control activities, TB direct observed therapies home visits; investigation and case management of patients with communicable diseases; care coordination and follow-up with local medical providers, state program consultants, and client family members; data collection and analysis; outreach; and other duties as assigned. Local Health Nurse I or II at District Office in Warren County

Health Environmentalist in Warren County

The Barren River District Health Department is accepting applications for a full time Health Environmentalist I Grade 15 to work at the Warren County Health Department. The minimum hourly wage is $12.15 per hour. Requirements are a bachelor’s degree from a college or university with a minor or equivalent course work (24 semester hours) in environmental health, biological, or physical science or registration as a Kentucky Environmental Specialist/Sanitarian under KRS 223.  Health Environmentalist to perform all environmental health inspections and investigations in Warren County to ensure compliance with regulations, to include food service, hotel/motel, mobile home/recreation vehicle park, public building plan review, tattoo studio, school, septic tank cleaning vehicle, septic tank cleaning disposal site, ear/body piercing studio, youth camp, tanning bed, lead, swimming pool, beach, private water sample, rabies control and onsite sewage disposal system program; Investigates all nuisance complaints including mosquito control, bird, insect, and rodent; Issues notice/release in the methamphetamine lab program; Teaches Food Manager classes; Responds to environmental emergencies such as food vehicle accident, food service establishment fire, flood or other natural disaster, water service emergency; Provides information on mold as needed; Interprets reports generated by the Environmental Health Management Information System (EHMIS). MNT Nutritionist I at District Office in Warren County

The Barren River District Health Department is accepting applications for a full-time MNT Nutritionist I position. This position will be based in Bowling Green, but will serve all eight counties. The minimum hourly wage is $16.30, with excellent benefits. The minimum requirements include licensed dietitian (LD) status as provided by the Kentucky Board of Licensure and Certification as provided in KRS 310.021 or be certified as a Certified Nutritionist (CN) by the Kentucky State Board of Licensure and Certification as provided in KRS 310.031. Preference will be given to applicants who are Registered Dieticians (RD). This position will serve as a registered dietitian, primarily providing diabetes services. This employee will be responsible for providing group diabetes education services, one-on-one enhanced support, as needed, and MNT to people with diabetes. Local Health Nurse Specialist at District Office in Warren County

The Barren River District has an opening for a full-time grade 20 LHN Specialist position to work at the District office. The minimum hourly rate is $16.89. The minimum requirement is two (2) years of registered nurse (RN) experience. BSN may substitute for one (1) year required experience. Master’s degree in Nursing, Nursing Administration, Nursing Education or Public Health may substitute for the two (2) years experience. Must have RN license in Kentucky or compact state. The Local Health Nurse Specialist will oversee the Diabetes Prevention and Control Program. The position will be responsible for writing the work plan, delivering services, ensuring benchmarks are met, and completing required reporting for the diabetes program. This position will need to have strong interpersonal skills. This position will routinely interact with community partners and participate in community coalitions throughout the service area to promote diabetes prevention and control services. Public Health HANDS Specialist at District Office in Warren County

Barren River District Health Department has an opening for a full-time Public Health HANDS Specialist Grade 14; to work at the Warren County Health Department. The minimum hourly rate is $11.40. The minimum requirement is a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work, Nursing, Early Childhood Education OR a Bachelor’s Degree in Social/Behavioral Science or related field with one (1) year experience performing case management services or a Master’s Degree in Human Services may substitute for the one (1) year of experience. An Associate’s Degree in Early Childhood Development and two (2) years of public health, early childhood or education experience OR Associate’s Degree in Nursing with Licensure in Kentucky or compact state and two (2) years of public health experience will substitute for the required education. Applicants must meet education requirements set forth in 902 KAR 4:120, with a preference for a bachelor’s in social work. Preference will also be given to applicants that are bi-lingual. Duties include conducting social assessments in the clinic and home setting, determining the eligibility for the HANDS program, providing families with child development and parenting information, and linking families to community resources. This position will also be responsible for completing various forms, monthly reports, and documentation of case records. Other duties as assigned.
