Career Achievement Award

Nancy Quarcelino, Health Information Branch Director, won the E. Al Austin, Jr. Career Achievement Award given at the Kentucky Public Health Association meeting held in March. This award is given to a person who stands as an equal with his or her colleagues, yet whose career achievements tower above the rest.

Quarcelino began her career as a field social worker with the TB program in 1974 before joining the Health Department in 1976. She established a social services team, helped with the formation of Hospice of Bowling Green, and established a district-wide purchasing system for the then newly formed agency. After serving thirteen years as Maternal and Child Health Services Director, Nancy developed and currently directs the Health Information Branch.
