Local Health Nurse I - School Nurse

The Barren River District Health Department is accepting applications for a Partial Year Appointment Local Health Nurse I position.  This position will be based in Barren County and will work in the Caverna Independent School System.  The minimum requirements are an Associate degree or diploma from an accredited college, university or school of nursing. Must have RN license in Kentucky or compact state or provisional license in Kentucky, meeting all requirements of KRS 314.041 and approval to practice as Registered Nurse Applicant (RNA).  Applicants need to be hightly motivated, independently thinking nursing professionals. Duties include working independently as a school nurse in a clinic setting in the Caverna Independent School System. The applicant will be working with students providing daily services to promote health and wellness, immunizations, well child physicals, medications, first aid, and clinic support for sick children. Other duties as assigned. Applicant must have reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license. Applicants will be screened then interviewed. Hourly wage is $14.77 with excellent benefits. Janitor - Contract Part-time

The Barren River District Health Department is accepting applications for two (2) unclassified Contract Part-Time Janitors; one to work at the Warren County Health Department and one at the Barren County Health Department. This position will be for approximately twenty hours a week. The minimum requirement is an elementary education (defined as eighth grade). Preference will be given to candidates with previous janitorial experience. Duties include sanitizing the building; cleaning, sweeping, dusting, mopping, vacuuming, polishing, and waxing floors; cleaning windows, woodwork, furniture and equipment; cleaning toilet facilities and keeping restrooms supplied with towels, soap and other items; collecting and disposing of trash from building and grounds; performing unskilled maintenance work; performing outside work such as cleaning walks; moving furniture and equipment; following instructions concerning various chemicals; and performing physical labor such as lifting supplies and climbing ladders. Other duties as assigned. The minimum hourly wage is $7.25 and will be negotiable based on experience. Travel will be required to other counties as needed after training is complete. Public Health Nurse I

The Barren River Health Department is accepting positions for Public Health Nurse I positions to be based in Warren County. These positions will be based in Bowling Green, but will serve all eight counties. The minimum requirement is a Bachelor's degree in nursing from an accredited college, university, or school of nursing. Must have RN license in Kentucky or compact state or provisional license in Kentucky, meeting all requirements of KRS 314.041 and approval to practice as Registered Nurse Applicant (RNA). No previous nursing practice experience required. Duties include investigation and case management of communicable diseases, coordination of follow-up with medical providers, and home visits. Other duties as assigned. This position requires weekend and holiday on-call rotation. You must have reliable transportation and a valid driver's license. Minimum hourly rate is $15.74. The successful applicants will be required to pass a pre-employment drug test and background check. Applications are being accepted on an ongoing basis. Local Health Nurse I

The Barren River District Health Department is accepting applications on an ongoing basis for a Local Health Nurse I. Requirements are an Associate degree or diploma from an accredited college, university or school of nursing. You must have met all of the requirements of Registered Nurse Applicant (RNA) or have a current active Kentucky Registered Nurse license or have a compact state licensure. No previous nursing practice experience required. Duties include clinical nursing for all clinic areas. Will travel to other counties within the district's eight counties as needed. Assessment method will be interviews. The successful applicant will be required to take and pass a pre-employment drug test and a criminal background check. Must have reliable transportation and a valid Kentucky driver's license.
