Job Description

Senior Support Associate I (Warren County)The Barren River District Health Department is accepting applications for a  full-time Senior Support Associate I position to work at the Warren County Health Department. The minimum requirements are a high school diploma or GED and one year of moderately difficult business or public administrative experience in a medical, hospital or administrative office environment using electronic office equipment and professional software. Additional education (college, vocational school, etc.) in business education or a medically related field may substitute for the required experience on a year for year basis. Duties include receptionist, making appointments, patient screening, WIC, cashier duties, data entry, copying, and filing.  Preference will also be given to applicants that are bilingual.  Other duties as assigned. The minimum hourly rate is $8.40 with excellent benefits. You must have reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license. Local Health Nurse I (Warren, Butler, Simpson) The Barren River District Health Department is accepting applications for a full-time Local Health Nurse I position to work at the Warren County, Butler County and Simpson County Health Departments. The minimum requirement is an Associate degree or diploma in nursing from an accredited college, university, or school of nursing.  Must have RN license in Kentucky or compact state or provisional license in Kentucky, meeting all requirements of KRS 314.041 and approval to practice as Registered Nurse Applicant (RNA). Preference will also be given to applicants that are bilingual. Public Health Nurse I: Chronic Disease Management Nurse (Warren County) The Barren River District Health Department is accepting applications for one (1) Public Health Nurse I position.   This position will be based in the District office in Bowling Green.  The minimum requirement is a Bachelor degree or diploma in nursing from an accredited college, university, or school of nursing.  Must have RN license in Kentucky or compact state or provisional license in Kentucky, meeting all requirements of KRS 314.041 and approval to practice as Registered Nurse Applicant (RNA).   Preference will be given to applicants that are bilingual.  This position will inform, educate, and empower people regarding their chronic disease issues and to link people to needed personal health services.  Duties include disease management for people with chronic diseases, working closely with the Community Health Workers to participate in initial assessments and goal setting with clients, providing nursing guidance for the Community Health Workers.   Hourly wage is $15.74 with excellent benefits.  Travel will be required to other counties as needed after training is complete. Janitor Contract Part-TimeThe Barren River District Health Department is accepting applications for an unclassified Contract Part-Time Janitor to work at the Barren County Health Department. This position will be for approximately twenty hours a week. The minimum requirement is an elementary education (defined as eighth grade). Preference will be given to candidates with previous janitorial experience. Duties include sanitizing the building; cleaning, sweeping, dusting, mopping, vacuuming, polishing, and waxing floors; cleaning windows, woodwork, furniture and equipment; cleaning toilet facilities and keeping restrooms supplied with towels, soap and other items; collecting and disposing of trash from building and grounds; performing unskilled maintenance work; performing outside work such as cleaning walks; moving furniture and equipment; following instructions concerning various chemicals; and performing physical labor such as lifting supplies and climbing ladders. Other duties as assigned. The minimum hourly wage is $7.25 and will be negotiable based on experience. Travel will be required to other counties as needed after training is complete. Local Health Nurse I

The Barren River District Health Department is accepting applications on an ongoing basis for a Local Health Nurse I. Requirements are an Associate degree or diploma from an accredited college, university or school of nursing. You must have met all of the requirements of Registered Nurse Applicant (RNA) or have a current active Kentucky Registered Nurse license or have a compact state licensure. No previous nursing practice experience required. Duties include clinical nursing for all clinic areas. Will travel to other counties within the district's eight counties as needed. Assessment method will be interviews. The successful applicant will be required to take and pass a pre-employment drug test and a criminal background check. Must have reliable transportation and a valid Kentucky driver's license.
