Falls Prevention Awareness and Screening Day - On the first day of fall our nation recognizes the day as National Falls Prevention Awareness Day. The Barren River Area Falls Prevention Task Force offers a special event to help promote Falls Prevention. The Falls Prevention Awareness and Screening Day’s are for the general public, and have a variety of healthy aging information to share. Blood pressure readings, bone density scans, vision checks, and personal fall risk assessments are just a few of the screenings that have been provided in past events. This year, with special help from our sponsor AARP’s Create the Good, we will be hosting the event at Living Hope Baptist Church in Bowling Green, Ky. Come join us to learn more about how you can help reduce the risk of falls. Worksite Safety – The Barren River District Health Department promotes worksite safety. Call your local health department to schedule a health educator to speak to your employees about Falls Prevention and Safe Lifting Techniques.
