August 2011 Employee of the Month

Rose Tinch-Calvert from the Simpson County Health Department was chosen as August Employee of the Month.   Her nominee said, “Due to the unexpected shortage of school nurses in Simpson County, Rose has done more than step up to make sure all of the schools are taken care of.  She has made sure that all Simpson County clinics are set up and she has trained several staff members so that the clinics can be up and running.  (These are all very timely tasks.)  She is now going from clinic to clinic daily to make sure the students of Simpson County are taken care of.  Not only has she been working and running like crazy, she has done it without complaint.  This is more than any other school nurse in the district.  Along with pretty much running four schools in Simpson, she is also always a phone call away to help me with any problems or questions that I might have.  She is a wealth of knowledge and she is a wonderful nurse.  You can tell that she truly values her job and the students she works with.  BRDHD and Simpson County should feel blessed in this time of need to have someone with the work ethic of Rose! I know that I feel blessed that she is not far.”

Rose began working at BRDHD in November 2008. She previously worked at the Medical Center of Bowling Green on the OB floor.  When asked what her favorite thing about working at BRDHD was Rose replied, “I like working at BRDHD because of the interaction I have with the community. I like being a school nurse and educating students about their health. Also, I feel having a school nurse provides health services for students that may not have access to any other type of health care. I also love the fact that I get to work in my chosen field and have the luxury of being off from work when my children are on breaks and holidays. “

Rose has been married to her husband, Bryan for 2 years.  She has four children, Savannah (13), Olivia (11), and twin boys Noah and Neal (2).  In her spare time Rose enjoys just hanging out with her family.

Congratulations Rose!
