Our society spends too much time being inactive in front of screens. Screen time is time spent being inactive and watching any kind of screen, such as the computer, TV, videos, or video games. While some screen time is okay, it is easy for people to get carried away with so much screen time that they don't get enough physical activity. Lack of physical activity can lead to many health problems, such as overweight and cardiovascular disease. Taking control of screen time and making it a point to do activities with the family is good for physical and emotional health. Take Control Family Challenge encourages people to "take control" by limiting their screen time. Instead, people could spend more time with their families, try new activities, read, play board games, or be physically active! |
