The Clinical Services
Branch provides a wide variety of clinical services.
Services listed below are available at all of our 8 county centers
unless otherwise noted. Referrals will be made to
outside providers for any problems identified during
preventive screenings.
Perinatal Home
Visits-provided to high risk prenatal and
postpartum women and infants. Home visiting
nurse completes a physical, environmental and social
issues assessment as well as counseling regarding
prenatal and postpartum health and infant care.
Outreach visits are made to
local hospitals. WIC services may also be provided
in the home or hospital under certain conditions.
Prenatal Services-Clients
with low income may be examined and counseled
routinely throughout their pregnancy by a contract
physician at the health department or the patient
may be referred to a local physician who accepts
Medicaid. Prenatal services are available
onsite in Hart and Metcalfe Counties.
